We accept documentaries, short films, and episode films. Before you submit your documentary, please carefully read the eligibility requirements for each category to select the one that best suits your documentary.
All documentaries submitted must have been completed in 2019 or later. If your film was completed before January 1, 2019, it is not eligible for submission. However, if your film production began before 2020 and ended in 2020, 2021, or 2022, it is still eligible for submission.
Documentaries should include a film trailer and the full film submission as a short film, documentary, or docuseries. If selected, we may ask for additional information such as graphics and marketing materials.
Documentaries with primarily non-English dialogue must include English subtitles. A translated list of dialogue will not be accepted. However, if the non-English dialogue is included as an artistic choice, subtitles are not necessary. Please ensure all subtitles are hardcoded into the video file.
Short films under 50 minutes in length are still eligible for submission if they have been broadcast on TV, streaming, VOD, or elsewhere. Feature-length films (50 minutes or longer) and episodic documentaries are also eligible for submission if they have had one or more local or nationwide TV airings worldwide, with limitations. They may be submitted if the version that was broadcast or streamed is significantly different from the one you wish to submit. You can not be under any licensing restrictions for your film to be eligible.
You must obtain permission from the appropriate legal rightsholder for any trademarked or copyrighted material included in your documentary. It is the sole responsibility of the entity or entities claiming ownership of the submitted documentary to secure licensing and/or permission from the trademark or copyright holders of the material in question.
We accept online links that enable us to view the trailer and film. Vimeo or YouTube links must be set to allow for embedding. For multi-episode documentaries, submit one continuous video. If your film is chosen, we accept MP4 format, and the maximum video size allowed is 5GB.
You will receive a confirmation email once your submission is complete. If we need additional information from you, we will contact you.
